Short version: Our extensions are built to work with the least data possible. We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and any data an extension needs to function is used only to provide that feature. Each extension’s store listing describes the specific permissions it requests.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the Fiveium Studio website and to the Products we publish, including extensions distributed through the Chrome Web Store. Some extensions are simple tools that handle no user data at all; others may handle limited data strictly to deliver the feature you requested. Where a specific Product differs from this general policy, the disclosures shown on its Chrome Web Store listing and any in-Product notices also apply.
2. What data we collect
Depending on the Product and the features you use, we may handle the following categories of data:
- Account & contact data — such as your name and email address, when you create an account, buy a Product, or contact support.
- Purchase data — order history and license keys. Payment card details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored on our servers.
- Extension settings & content — preferences and data you choose to save within an extension (for example, saved tabs, snippets, or configuration). Where possible this is stored locally in your browser or synced through your own browser account, not on our servers.
- Website data needed for a feature — only the specific page data an extension needs to perform the action you triggered (for example, the current tab’s URL or selected text). This is described in each extension’s permissions.
- Usage & diagnostic data — limited, aggregated information such as feature usage, crash logs, browser type and version, used to keep the Product working and improve it. We use only privacy-respecting analytics and avoid collecting content where we can.
- Support communications — messages and attachments you send us.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data, and we do not collect data from children. Our Products are not directed to children under 13.
3. How we use data
We use data only for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate and maintain the Product and its features;
- To deliver purchases, license keys, updates and downloads;
- To respond to your support requests;
- To detect, prevent and fix bugs, abuse and security issues;
- To understand aggregate usage so we can improve our Products;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to a Product’s single purpose, we do not sell user data, and we do not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending. This is consistent with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How we share data & who we share it with
We share data only as described below, and only with parties who are bound to protect it:
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe, PayPal) — to process payments for paid Products.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers — to host our website and store account/order records.
- Email & support providers — to send transactional emails and handle support tickets.
- Analytics & error-reporting providers — to receive limited, aggregated usage and crash data.
- Legal & safety — authorities or advisors when required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers — a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties for their own marketing. A Product never shares more data than is necessary for the feature you used.
5. Data storage, retention & security
Where an extension can work using local browser storage, your data stays on your device. Where data must reach our servers (for example, account and order records), we keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or anonymize it. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect data, although no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Manage or clear extension data from your browser’s extension settings;
- Uninstall an extension at any time to stop all data handling by it;
- Contact us to access, update or delete account data we hold.
To exercise any right, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
7. International users
We may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By using our Products you understand your data may be processed in those locations.
8. Third-party links
Our website and Products may link to third-party sites or services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those third parties; please review their own privacy policies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of a Product after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
